LAD Gets Monkey To Be Ring Bearer At His Wedding

It's his wife's favourite animal.

Nowadays when people plan their wedding they seem to want to be unique and extravagant.

Rather than get family and friends around for a simple ceremony at a church, there's all sorts of gimmicks involved like sky diving, tying a knot on a deserted island or having a Shrek themed ceremony.

It just seems unnecessary. You can still have a normal wedding day and include a few little quirks without making it ridiculous, as Jamie Richardson has proved.

For him and his wife last year in August, their special day was pretty much your run of the mill "I do" type of thing, right up until the rings were given to them.

Knowing that his missus Natalie's favourite animal is a monkey, he decided to hire one as the ring bearer to surprise.

"I got it from a website called Amazing Animals. They normally only rent out for TV and film companies but I persuaded them as my wife's favourite animal is a monkey," Jamie told LADbible. "She was so surprised and loved it. She said 'only Jamie could get a monkey to be the ring bearer.

"It's the first time Newcastle has had a monkey at a wedding, apparently."

The pair got hitched at Jesmond Dene House in Newcastle with their little mate, who happily stayed about for evening do, too.

According to Natalie, this was 'a very Jamie thing to do', and she probably should have expected something like this to happen.

Luckily though, the gamble of having a jungle animal to bring a ring to the most important day of their lives paid off, and Natalie loved the sentiment behind it.

Amazing Animals, where the monkey was hired from, has been involved in the professional training and supplying of a wide range of animals to various media companies for four decades. Kind of like Ross' pet monkey Marcel in Friends.

The company abides by the highest standards of care for their animals.
