Heartbreaking Video Shows Dog Running After Owner After He Abandons It On The Side Of The Road

Everyone knows that pets aren't just for Christmas and when you buy or adopt an animal, it's for life. It's a massive responsibility and it's not a play toy to get on an impulse.

Many animals form bonds with their owners but few come close to a dog. Depending on the breed, they latch onto their human with an excitement and happiness that's eye watering.

So imagine the heartbreak of seeing a dog so attached to it's owner that it follows his car as it's being abandoned.

Video has emerged from California showing a man take a dog to a seemingly abandoned stretch of road and then try to speed off.

What the man probably wasn't banking on was the dog's fierce determination to hold on as well as someone filming him.

Once the man is able to get the dog far enough away from the car, the pooch raises his front legs and places them on the car.

You can just imagine it thinking: "Hey, what are you doing? Why am I not in the car? Wait, where are you going? You've forgotten to put me in."

God, even writing what that dog was thinking was heartbreaking.

Stephen Sage Silver, the man who filmed the devastating incident, wrote on Facebook: "These people were hitting this dog in the face when I first approached them.

"They then abandoned the dog after the male tried to get into a physical altercation with me. As he drove off he was yelling: 'It's your dog not mine'."

Kern County Animal Services has reportedly opened an investigation into the animal abandonment. Thankfully, the dog has been picked up and is now being cared for at a shelter.

It's terrible seeing people abandon animals and sadly it seems to happen all around the world. People were horrified after a CCTV captured the moment a dog was left to fend for itself in Stoke.

The horrific footage shows a man getting out of a car with a dog bed while another person waits in the driving seat, he is then seen unclipping the lead from his dog and dashing back across the road to get into the car.

As the car speeds off, the distressed dog jumps up at the car window with his front paws as if to implore the people not to leave him on his own.

The CCTV footage was taken on the corner of Timor Grove and Pacific Road in Stoke at about 5pm on Monday 17 December. The RSPCA has opened an investigation to try to find the people responsible for abandoning the poor animal.

A passer-by discovered the poor dog sitting in his dog bed within an hour of him being left behind. They then brought him to a vet, who then called the RSPCA.
