This is incredible.

In 2011, Luiz Trigo weighed 400lbs (28.5 stone). He had just quit his job after realising that he couldn't stand up for full shifts, and his girlfriend had left him. He was depressed. He decided to go to the doctor where he was told that if he didn't change now, he would die.

Fast forward to 2017 and he's in a new relationship and is a personal trainer.

Over his journey, he lost 245lb. At his leanest, he was 155lb but now (since weight training) he's increased to 170lbs. He's 5ft 7.

Speaking to podcast, Steel Shredded, he said: "I actually started off heavy as a child. I've been heavy since middle school, I was obese by high school so it's always been a part of my life. I always hovered around the upper 200s.

"It snowballed when I started college and then work. I didn't pay attention to my nutrition because I was paying attention to my grades. I didn't pay attention to my health, before I knew it, I was in the 300s."

He continued: "Basically what happened was that I was 350lbs at the time, and I couldn't even stand at work. My job was in warehousing and I could barely handle it within a couple of hours. I was constantly sluggish and tired - so I quit my job to concentrate on my nutrition.

"Unfortunately when I did that, I lost my long term relationship which made me depressed which made me blow up from 350lbs to 400lbs in a span of two months.

"I started having heart palpitations and diagnosed as pre-diabetic the doctor said if you don't change now, you're going to die. You're 24 years old and 400lb."

He explained that he could "either sit here and die" or he "could do something about it" and live the life that he was supposed to.

It wasn't easy. As someone who'd eaten whatever he wanted for years, he didn't know where to start. "I was extremely ignorant, so the first thing I did was cut fast food and soda," he said.

"My exercise at first was very humbling, basically I walked up and down a hill by my house because that's all I could handle. At first, it was a very slow steady journey."

"I was one of those people who wanted a quick fix, I want to get this weight off right now! First time I exercised, I actually teared up. I didn't realise I'd got so bad and was so out of shape,"

Now, everything has worked out for him. He explained: "I am currently a personal trainer and nutritionist, years ago I started my journey at 400lbs, now I'm down to... well my leanest was 155, now I'm down to 170. that's because I added muscle mass because that was my next goal."

Well, if that's not some inspiration for everyone out there, I don't know what is.Featured Image Credit: Instagram/savageresolve
