Unemployed Dad Goes To Extreme Lengths To Find A Job To Provide For Family

Unemployed Dad Goes To Extreme Lengths To Find A Job To Provide For Family

Fair play to him!

It's that time on the calendar when final year students are beginning to realise that they need to start looking for jobs (if they haven't already). However, they're probably also starting to come to the conclusion that every other third year in the entire country is thinking the same thing. And if your degree is in a field that is notoriously difficult to get in to, many people give up before they've already started.

The thing is, a lot of people will get jobs because of who they know, not what they know. If you want to make yourself stand out, you need to do something a bit... big.

This guy isn't a student, but he's got exactly the right attitude. Kevin Batcheler has become so desperate to find a job to provide for his three kids that he's taken to standing by the side of the road with a huge sign holding a condensed version of his C.V.

Yeah, it might be a bit embarrassing. And, yeah, it's probably not how he pictured he was going to get his next job. But this man is doing something to get his name out there. You have to admit, it's working. He lives in Queensland, Australia, and people are talking about him all around the world.

He's been searching for a job for the last year.

Speaking to the Caboolture Shire Herald, he said: "I've been with a job agency for six months, but they haven't helped me at all.

"I thought I'd take matters into my own hands and I think that word of mouth is better than one job agency. I'm not ashamed of doing this at all. I think it is the best way to find a job."

He said that he's already had several people stop to talk to him, and 'heaps of honks and waves which is lifting my spirits'.

Although he would prefer to work at a factory or in the transport industry, he added that he's looking for 'any job'. We don't know yet if he's found a job but surely it's only a matter of time.

This is the kind of attitude you need if you want to get into your preferred the industry.
