Chester Bennington's Wife Shares Picture Of Linkin Park Singer Taken Days Before His Death

The widow of Chester Bennington, the lead singer of Linkin Park who sadly committed suicide at the age of 41, has posted a photograph of the 'Crawling' star with his children, taken just a few days before he died.

Talinda, 40, uploaded the family photo to Twitter in which Bennington can be seen smiling while surrounded by his young family.

"This was days b4 my husband took his own life," she said in the post. "Suicidal thoughts were there, but you'd never know."

She added the hashtag 'fuckdepression' to her post, something she has used frequently online since her husband's death.

Talinda married Bennington in 2006, with the star crediting her for helping him to deal with his demons. The singer had a history of drink and drug abuse, something he attributed in part to historic child abuse from an older friend when he was between seven and 13.

The father of six - Chester had three children with Talinda, two (one adopted) with his first wife and one from a previous relationship - spoke openly about his mental health issues, but committed suicide on 20 July, a few months after close friend Chris Cornell of Soundgarden had died.

Talinda recently wrote on Twitter: "Another night & I can't sleep. The empty space in my bed is too light now & throws off my balance. I tend to roll to the side."

Since the tragic events, she has encouraged fans to express themselves towards friends when struggling with mental health issues and to open up about the difficulties they were having.

In another tweet, she wrote: "I want 2 know how ur feeling today. Do U need 2 be lifted up & told you're loved? Or do U want to help up others in pain today?"

She received 742 replies, many offering messages of support.
