Dwayne Johnson can't really do much wrong in anyone's eyes - he surprised his stunt double with a brand new car, showed only pride as he fed his wife and trolls Kevin Hart all. the. time.

So he's a diamond in everyone's eyes. That is, until he rocks up to a sea life aquarium and posts a video to Instagram - then he's everybody's worst enemy, or so it would seem.

The 46-year-old former wrestler turned actor thanked the staff at Georgia Aquarium for 'being so gracious, kind and informative' to his family and friends.

He posted a video with a sea lion called Katie which has been watched more than two million times. In it he says: "As all you guys around the world know that I am one with creatures and animals and basically anything with a heartbeat."

He then goes on to explain that he 'taught' Katie to say his name, 'world's sexiest man, DJ'. He doesn't leave one of his best mates out of the equation either - he told the animal 'you're much bigger than Kevin Hart' and Katie seemed to agree with him.

But fans were quick to jump on him about his choice of activity as they claimed that by visiting the aquarium he was 'supporting animals in captivity'.

The MailOnline reported that one Instagram user took to the comments section to write: "It's 2018. Enough is enough. There is so much more knowledge that these animals should not be in tanks."

And another claimed to be 'devastated' by his post, saying: "Shame on you. You have the opportunity to educate folks on how cruel it is to exploit an innocent being yet you make a joke out of their imprisonment. How devastating."

One person couldn't understand why a celebrity was promoting the aquarium, writing: "WHY!? I can't believe that people - especially 'celebrities' are still promoting animals in captivity! Shame on you dude."

Fans of The Rock jumped to his defence with some pleased to see he was supporting his local aquarium, saying: "Aloha Dwayne! It is actually a sea lion! I am happy to see that you are supporting local aquariums!

"Many people have bought into the false lies of Blackfish and aren't seeing the full picture and are commenting on subjects that they have 0 experience in."

Another added: "Man when did visiting an aquarium become a crime?"

Oh dear, oh dear. Still, we're sure he'll get himself out of this one in some way, shape or form.
