The definition of irony is: "The expression of one's meaning by using language that normally signifies the opposite, typically for humorous or emphatic effect."

Well, you could also chuck a photo of this Aussie bikie in with that definition considering his face tattoo is the sheer definition of the word.

Troy Fornaciari has 'Tuff Luck' inked onto his eyelids (ouch, goddamn ouch), 'Not Guilty' on one cheek and 'In Gods Hands' on his chin.

It's the first two tattoos that fit into this category considering he's just been sentenced to three years and six months jail time for possessing an unauthorised firearm, dealing with proceeds of crime and affray.

The 35-year-old has spent a year in the slammer as he awaited his trial and during that time his lawyer expressed to the judge that his client intended to get rid of those face tattoos the moment he was released because he thought they were 'embarrassing'.

Magistrate Susan McGowan said at the time: "Getting rid of his tattoos is a good idea if it can be done - good luck with that - to help the defendant keep a low profile which can only be beneficial."

Well, it seems like he'll have to put up with them for a little while longer.

Imagine have a 'Not Guilty' tattoo on your face of all places and be found guilty. I guess you could say it was 'tuff luck'.

Outside court, defence lawyer Graeme Morrison told the Illawarra Star that the year spent behind bars has already changed his behaviour.

"I don't think his lifestyle has been conducive to his mental health and I think he's growing up a bit, maturing a bit and wants to do something different other than trying to play silly buggers with the law," Mr Morrison said.

He added that Troy has been taking medication to deal with post traumatic stress disorder, anxiety and depression.

Fornaciari was arrested in 2018 during a raid on the Finks North Wollongong clubhouse, where police seized a loaded pistol and a stolen vehicle.

But the affray charge stemmed from an incident a year prior when he bashed a man because he crashed Fornaciari's beloved Harley Davidson motorcycle. The Finks bikie bashed the man even after police and paramedics told him to leave.

Well, there you have it, if you want to get a tattoo and you're getting into organised crime, it might be a good idea not to get any legal remarks inked.
