Student's Reaction To Being Sent See-Through Dress Goes Viral

At least she saw the funny side

We've all fallen foul to the perils of online shopping - ordering something that looks amazing, only for it to arrive and... well, it's not quite as the photos portrayed it.

While some of us fume at the thought of parting with our hard-earned cash for a sub-par item, one student from Dublin couldn't stop laughing when she saw what she had been sent after a bit of online shopping.

Eighteen-year-old Jodie Howard ordered a brightly coloured dress from online store Lux Noire for €33 (£28.50) - but when it arrived, she found this that it was a) teeny and b) completely see-through. Not ideal.

Her reaction to the dress - uncontrollable laughter - went viral, with people commenting to share their own stories of online shopping fuck-ups.

Speaking to Dublin Live, Jodie said: "I shop online occasionally, this is the first time I've ever received something that was completely different to the photo online.

"It came up as an ad on Instagram and I clicked on to the page and went from there."

Jodie first thought something might be up when her bank sent her a message, warning her about the site she was about to send payment too. It's never good, that, is it? But she decided to go ahead with the purchase anyway and two weeks later it arrived.

After initially being 'shocked' by the size of the package it came in, Jodie added: "What came out was even worse. I found it quite funny and it was a nightmare to get on because it was so small.

"My mam and I had a laugh trying to get it on and found it hilarious when I finally got it on as it was completely see-through."

The post has attracted hundreds of comments from people who think the whole thing is pretty funny.

One wrote: "Noooo the internet wins again," while another asked: "Why are we all so unfortunate with online shopping?"

Rather unflatteringly, a couple of people compared the look to Slimer from Ghostbusters, which probably wasn't what poor Jodie had in mind when she placed her order.

Still, others were quick to comment that she 'still rocked it' - that's as may be, but she's still at risk of arrest if she tries to leave the house in that.
