Abandoned Dog Sees Owners At Shelter - But They Wanted A New One

Abandoned Dog Sees Owners At Shelter - But They Wanted A New One

This is so cruel.

As we come up to Christmas, there's going to be a lot of people considering getting dogs. Whether it be for your partner, family or maybe a close mate. But four-legged friend really is for life. They rely on you for food, love, hugs and generally just everything. But in return, you get a best pal.

Maybe this family from California should have thought about that before they abandoned their canine, a German Shepherd named Zuzu.

It's hard not to get really angry about this. Basically, two-year-old Zuzu was found in a garden and assumed to be a stray. She was picked up and taken to a dog rescue shelter. Fair enough. Then, a family walked in. Zuzu began jumping around and 'lit up like a Christmas tree'. The family began petting her and talking to her through the fence. What a heartwarming story, right?

WRONG.

These heartless bastards actually came to get a new dog and didn't want Zuzu at all.

Desi Lara, an employee of the shelter, wrote on Facebook: "With her fast wagging tail seeing her owners Zuzu lit up like a Christmas Tree. She looked like the happiest dog. Yeah, she's going home.

"But no. Talking to her owners they told me they were not here to reclaim her, they were getting another dog."

Apparently, Zuzu had been 'depressed and crying' since her father died. So they didn't want her anymore.

However, there is some good news. Downey Animal Care Center wrote on Facebook: "We would like to report the happy ending that a rescue has agreed to take Zuzu and she will be leaving Downey on Friday, which is the first day that she is legally allowed to be adopted."

We don't know if the family were allowed to adopt another dog. Hopefully not.
