Proposing to your significant other can be really stressful as there are so many factors which are out of your control.

What if you drop the ring? What if they say no? What if people laugh at the pair of you crying?

Well, imagine dropping down on one knee in front of tens of thousands of people screaming. That's exactly what Shane Bitney Crone did when he popped the question to his boyfriend, Rayvon Owen, at a Demi Lovato concert.

Rayvon had no idea what was happening when the 'Sorry Not Sorry' singer pulled him onstage. As he was trying to get over the fact that he was stood in front of loads of people, Shane - who is a filmmaker, writer, speaker, and advocate for LGBT rights - popped out from the middle of the stage on one knee.

As the audience went wild for what they knew was about to happen, Shane told Rayvon: "I thought I could never love again, and then I completely fell in love with everything about you. You inspire me every day with your passion, your patience, your talents and generous heart."

When Shane eventually proposed, the crowd erupted in screams and applause, while he and Rayvon were incredibly emotional.

Demi told everyone: "What some of you don't know is that these are two of my really close friends. I've gotten to watch Shane go through so much and come out on the other side as such a strong person who's found the love of his life."

She then sang 'Yes' from her 2015 album Confident.

The moment is particularly sweet for Shane because his previous boyfriend, Tom Bridegroom, tragically died after falling from the roof of a building.

Tom's family wasn't accepting of their son's sexuality and prevented Shane from attending the funeral or keeping anything they shared - with his struggle immortalised in the documentary Bridegroom.

Rayvon was particularly grateful to Demi for agreeing to host the proposal and putting on such a show for the couple.

"The whole slideshow, and her singing the song, that was like her idea," he told Billboard. "She was so kind to do that, then to even go the extra mile, you know?

"Not just say, 'Yeah, you can propose to him on stage', but then, 'Let me sing you a song'.

"She did the whole thing. It took up almost 10 minutes of her concert."

It's a beautiful moment that Shane and Rayvon will not only have for the rest of their lives, but they also got to share it with Demi and the crowds of people who cheered them on that night.

Shane wrote on Facebook: "It was one of the greatest moments of my life! I also want to thank you for all that you have done and continue to do for young people, and particularly the LGBT community.

"Your heart, your voice, and your activism make everyone feel accepted, less alone, more empowered and more hopeful."
