When you're on a night out on the town, a bouncer can seriously get in the way of a good time. Sure, they're there to ensure no one shady, too drunk or underage gets inside and they're also the first port of call if something serious goes down.
But surely most of us have been the victim of an overzealous security guard who refused us entry because you were with too many guys, or your shoes or clothes weren't in keeping with the establishment.
While we mope and huff for a moment, at least the reason for refusal usually isn't as bad as the one presented to this Argentinian woman.
Agustina Rios Martinez was planning to celebrate her friend's birthday at the Rose in Rio club in Buenos Aires. But as she got to the front door, the bouncer allegedly told her she didn't 'hit the target' and she wasn't 'the kind of girl who goes to his place'.
That's pretty bloody rough.
She recounted the experience in a post on Facebook, where she wrote: "All my life I have been insulted, shouted at in the street, and mocked because I was a fatty, but not letting me in a club because of my physical appearance! It was the worst thing that happened to me so far.
"I share this with you so that you try not to go to these type of shit places that have no brain and believe they can manage the universe."
The status has been liked, shared and commented on by tens of thousands of people offering messages of support.
One person wrote: "I send you a big hug and I'm sorry you had to go through such a shitty situation. Don't let these people get you down, on the contrary, let it give you more strength and pride to make up for who you are."
Another added: "Don't let it affect you, no one has the right to discriminate for no reason! Enjoy the life chubby, skinny is not what matters but the desire to better yourself day to day, you are more than a body."
In Agustina's post, she included the alleged bouncer's Facebook account, which appears to have been deleted, probably because he's copping an almighty shitstorm of abuse.
Her brother says the young woman has been suffering panic attacks as a result of the incident.
Clubs are overrated anyway: drinks are often too expensive and entry fee sometimes costs an arm and a leg.
Hope she feels better.
