People have their daily staples; whether it be picking up the local paper, tucking into some bacon and eggs or going for a swim down at the beach.

For some, it's grabbing an iced coffee from the servo or supermarket to start the day off right. But South Australians are finding that a bit difficult after the drought in the eastern states caused a shortage of a particular fan favourite.

Pictures uploaded to social media shows shelves, which should be stocked with Farmers Union Iced Coffee, are completely empty.

Naturally, people are pissed.

A Lion Dairy & Drinks, which owns Farmers Union Iced Coffee, spokesperson told news.com.au: "Extreme weather conditions - including drought, together with significant cost increases across water, feed and energy - have contributed to the challenges facing dairy production in Australia, which has resulted in lower milk supply and increased milk price.

"At this time, we are also experiencing an increase in demand for our dairy products and we were unable to source the additional milk to fulfil this volume."

If you're scratching your head wondering why the hell this is an issue, according to 10 Daily, this brand sells nearly double the amount that Coca-Cola does in South Australia.

Let that sink in for a moment.

Can you imagine if there was a Coke shortage anywhere in the country? There would be riots.

Farmers Union added on Facebook: "We're feeling your pain... Unfortunately, there have been issues with some FUIC products being supplied in South Australia due to a shortfall in milk availability.

"The supply shortage has impacted our popular 2 litre FUIC in South Australia, but it is getting back to being in stock as quickly as possible."

Let's hope it's not much longer until South Australians can get their lips around a delicious bottle of iced coffee.
