Sometimes it can be difficult to give your mum the meal that she truly deserves for Mother's Day.

Cooking a three course meal at home can be tough because you missed that last 10 minutes of Masterchef where they taught you how to sauté those goddamn mushrooms.

So, take the stress out of showering mum at your home kitchen and take her to Maccies.

Yeah, we totally understand that she probably won't be thrilled about getting a Big Mac meal for her special day, but the fast food company is putting on a three-course, sit down special for Mother's Day and it only costs £10.

But before you race to see where your closest McDonald's is, the special offer is only available at one restaurant in Newcastle on Northumberland Street.

A spokesperson for Maccies told Chronicle Live: "The Northumberland Street restaurant were really eager to get another event planned due to the success of the Valentine's experience and how well everyone responded to it throughout the North East."

As a starter, you'll get Mozzarella Dippers, Four Nuggets or Carrot Sticks with Philadelphia. The main includes a Signature Collection Burger, Big Mac, Chicken Legend, Fillet O'Fish or Veggie Burger. Then finally the dessert is a tough choice between a McFlurry, Fruit Bag, Muffin or Apple Pie.

Decisions, decisions.

But you might still have to put on that fancy dinner at home, as the only slots that are available are 11am, 12:30pm and 2pm.

Maccies isn't just putting on a nice and cheap meal for mum, the chain is also doing its bit for International Women's Day.

Motorists in California might have been a bit perplexed when they were driving past one restaurant today as Head Office decided to flip the famous sign on the restaurant in Lynwood to promote IWD.

One hundred other restaurants will switch up the packaging to reflect the day and will also change logos on Facebook and Twitter so that the message spreads beyond Los Angeles.

McDonald's global chief diversity officer, Wendy Lewis, said: "In celebration of women everywhere, and for the first time in our brand history, we flipped our iconic arches for International Women's Day in honour of the extraordinary accomplishments of women everywhere and especially in our restaurants.

"From restaurant crew and management to our C-suite of senior leadership, women play invaluable roles at all levels, and together with our independent franchise owners, we're committed to their success."
