We're all told that you should never turn up to a party or BBQ without anything in your hand. Some people will rock up with some chips or lollies, whereas others might bring a case of beer or a good bottle of wine (if it's a more chilled-out event).
While that's all well and good, it never leaves a lasting impact.
At least, nowhere near the type of impact you'd make if you walked in clutching one of these bad boys.

Sure, you're probably thinking that a bottle like that would set you back a fair bit, but fear not. Supermarket ALDI has decided to sell their 1.5L magnum of Brut Dargent Ice Sparkling Chardonnay or Pinot Noir for just $20.
It's cheap enough to buy a few bottles and pretend for a split second you're a famous movie star, or even better, Daniel Ricciardo on the podium after winning a Formula1 race.

An ALDI spokesperson has told news.com.au: "These high-quality magnums of bubbly are the perfect way to celebrate with friends or family throughout the party season, allowing everyone to enjoy the refreshing taste for under $20 per bottle.
"However, those who want to snap up this great offer will need to hurry in store, as it is only available while stocks last."
It's certainly a game changer to make your Melbourne Cup or Christmas party go from zero to 100 very quickly. They went on sale at the start of November and will be available at stores in New South Wales, Western Australia, Victoria and the Australian Capital Territory.

It's certainly cheerier news than ALDI's recent announcement that Australia would not be getting the much-hyped wine advent calendar. The UK arm of the juggernaut said it would sell the thirst-quenching product for just £50 (AUD$ 84) and there were plenty of Australians wondering if it was going to reach our shores.
But alas, an ALDI spokesperson told News Corp: "ALDI operates in a number of countries, in which varying products are sold in each market. At this stage, the wine advent calendar will not be available in Australian ALDI stores."
No other reason was given for the boozy advent calendar not being stacked on our shelves, but I guess when you've got 1.5L magnums of sparkling for less than some six-packs of beer, we can't complain too much.
Bring on the silly season!
