The 'Ultimate Breakfast Box' Is Here And It's Actually A Decent Price

The 'Ultimate Breakfast Box' Is Here And It's Actually A Decent Price

It's described as the 'perfect hangover cure'

A cafe in Walsall has dared customers to take on the biggest breakfast of all time. Yup, it's even bigger than the success of winning combo Johnny Vaughan and Denise van Outen in their Big Breakfast pomp. It's even bigger than that.

Kat's Cabin has invited guests to try it's 'perfect hangover cure'. So far, no one has managed to finish the 'ultimate breakfast box', and with good reason:

The 'box' (well, it's served in a pizza box) comes with six sausages, six rashers of bacon, four pieces of blood-drenchingly good black pudding, four hash browns, four fried eggs, two tubs of beans, two tubs of chopped tomatoes and yes, two tubs of mushrooms.

It also comes with the most underrated yet most important part of any fry up: toast. Six slices of it, to be exact, and for extra luxe purposes, three pieces of fried bread.

Not only have the cafe invited prospective diners/corpses to come down and take on the challenge, they've also offered anyone within a mile radius free delivery - after paying £15 ($19.80) for the meal.

Co-owner Kat Pointon said: "The reaction to our launch has gone really well. We have been doing it for just over a week now and our Facebook post about it has been seen by over 250,000 people and has nearly 1,500 comments. I have tried scrolling through but I don't have time to read them all!

"Loads of people are saying they would like to try it. No one has done it on their own yet, not that we know of. We have had people buying it to share for things like meetings and with their children. I did two for a man in Rugeley yesterday morning.

"My husband saw a picture of another cafe's challenge and he has read about people going round cafes in America trying to do them before so he thought, 'why not do one in Walsall?' We believe it is the first of its kind in Walsall, we don't think anyone else has done one of these yet."

It's possible that no one had done this in Walsall yet because it's questionable whether anyone should try and take on that much food, but Kat is hoping the promotion will help get permission for the cafe to open up on Sundays and end its currently limited operating hours.

In fairness to Kat and husband Mark, it's a sort of rags-to-riches story (with added bacon). Originally a mobile van, this year the duo started operating a cafe in a former post office, and now serve a strong social purpose in giving people somewhere to go and chat to others -especially the older crowd, who might not have anyone to talk to about their love of sausages, fried eggs and other breakfast delights.

Good times.
