As veganism rises around the world, companies are battling to get a share of the meat and dairy-free dollar.

Most restaurants and food retailers are jumping on the bandwagon with gusto, offering vegetarian and vegan options so customers don't go elsewhere for breakfast, lunch or dinner.

So it's no surprise that the pizza juggernaut known as Domino's is offering a new range of meaty pizzas for vegans and vegos.

Hold up.

Meaty pizzas for vegans? How could that possibly work? Oh, right, they're packing the dough with plant-based versions of meat. You've probably seen the 'I Can't Believe It's Not Meat' type of products getting into your supermarkets.

Domino's Australia and New Zealand CEO Nick Knight said Domino's says they're committed to offering pizzas for everyone.

"Pizza is our passion and we want to ensure that everyone can share in the joy of pizza, regardless of their religious, ethical, dietary or lifestyle choices," he said.

"Our existing Beef & Onion pizza is among our top five most popular pizzas nationally, and beef is our second highest selling topping - so we already know it's a product our customers love.

"We set out to share this love by serving up a range of tasty plant-based pizzas that offers our customers more choice at no extra charge.

"I'm excited to share that after nine months of developing and testing, we've finally done it and we couldn't be more proud with the result."

The three pizzas that will be released include Beef & Onion, Beef Loaded Burger and Beef Taco Fiesta.

All of them don't contain any meat and instead they've got the vegan versions of meat that are made from soy protein. Yummy.

Domino's Global Development Chef Michael Treacy said: "We didn't want to rush the process only to deliver a lesser quality product. So we challenged our partners to develop a product that not only tastes great, but that our customers won't have to pay more for.

"Similar to our vegan cheese - which sold out within a matter of weeks upon launch - we expect our plant-based range to become a much-loved staple and a key part of our menu."

So, if you're salivating at the thought of wrapping your lips around some vegan-friendly pizzas that look just like the real deal, then Domino's has you covered.

You'll only have to wait a month and a half until they'll be rolled out across stores in Australia.
