Morrisons Launches 19-Piece 'Big Daddy' Breakfast And We Want It Now

With eight more items than Morrisons' standard breakfast, the massive meal will set you back just £6

There's very little that beats waking up to a proper fry-up for breakfast - whether it's to cure a particularly savage hangover, to set you up for a big day out or simply because why the hell not?

By a 'proper fry-up' we do, of course, mean the full works. Not just a couple of poached eggs on toast with some snipped chives on top (who are you trying to kid?!). Not weird, slightly scary-looking frankfurters, but meaty, good quality pork sausages. Heinz baked beans, if we're getting technical. A builder's brew on the side - and maybe even a glass of Tropicana if you've got some in.

But now there's something that's even better than the classic fry-up you're used to, and that's The Big Daddy Breakfast at Morrisons, which the supermarket is dubbing the largest cooked breakfast in a UK supermarket café.

Served up on a plate so giant we're pretty sure it's theoretically a serving platter, the 19-piece breakfast includes three rashers of British bacon, three British pork sausages, three hash browns, two fried eggs, two slices of black pudding, two slices of fried bread, two half tomatoes, baked beans and sliced mushrooms.

Go hard or go home, right?

Helen Tordoff from Morrisons said: ''Our standard cooked breakfast is one of our most popular meals on the menu, but customers have asked for one that's even bigger.

The 'Big Daddy Breakfast' is an excellent choice for customers with a big appetite.''

Morrison's

With eight more items than Morrisons' standard breakfast, the massive meal will set you back just £6 ($8) - and is available at in-store cafés now.

Sounds like way less of a bum deal than the full English one tourist received while on holiday in Cyprus, sharing his disappointing experience on Reddit by posting a picture of the slightly baffling plateful.

The photo, shared by Reddit user Spicerldn, shows a chopping board containing a frankfurter sausage, baked beans, what looks like slightly undercooked bacon, a single, fried egg and a tomato covered in seasoning. Oh and there was some salad garnish, too - not really in the spirit of the full English, that nod to healthy eating, but there we go.

While some other Redditors were sympathetic of the holidaymaker's woes, others weren't quite so supportive - with one person commenting: "Who the f*** goes to Cyprus and orders a Full English?"

Good point - better get yourself down to Morrisons next time, fella.
