Like the good Catholic boy I am, I'm right in the middle of Lent. No drinking, no fizzy pop, no crisps, no cakes and above all, no bloody chocolate.

You'd be amazed at how easy it actually is once you get over the initial post-Pancake Day hump and by the time you bypass the St Patrick's Day drinkathon, you're on the home straight. The temptation is all but finished.

Or so I thought. Few things get me going like the sight of a Creme Egg - I like to dunk Maccies chips in mine - and, like the ambassador I am, I'm a sucker for a Ferrero Rocher.

And don't get me started on cheesecakes: I could smash a whole Sara Lee in one sitting. So guess what one Welsh coffee shop has decided to offer? Creme Egg and Ferrero Rocher Cheesecakes.

The Cottage Coffee Shop & Lunch Bar in the Rhondda Valley has come up with a concoction that seems specifically designed to make God angry: they take two solid Easter Egg shells, stuff them with biscuit crumb, top them with Creme Egg or Ferrero Rocher cheesecakes and then throw on a few other choccies for good measure.

"As our Easter cheesecakes are so popular, we've been experimenting and trying to make them even more delicious," co-owner, Josie Staple, told the Metro.

"And we've come up with Creme Egg cheesecakes - inside an Easter egg, topped with even more Creme Eggs."

They're not even that dear: one half shell will set you back just £3.50 while the whole shebang is just £6 - a bargain, though folks like me might have to factor in a lifetime in the damnation of hell into the price.

To be honest, it looks worth it.

If you want to pick one up, you'll have to be quick: the shop are making them but keep selling out, with people driving from all over Wales and even further to pick up one of the.

"We're still having a lot of people coming from all over for the Easter Eggs! We are still constantly running out," the cafe posted on Facebook yesterday after floods of people came in to get their hungry mitts on the eggs.
