Twenty-Two-Year-Old Rapper Meets 81-Year-Old Retiree He Befriended Over 'Words With Friends'

Right in the feels. A young Maryland rapper met up with the 81-year-old Florida retiree he made friends with over an online word game.

In this age of the Internet and social media, it's easier than ever for us to make friends whether it's through banter on FIFA or on the pull on Tinder.

However, becoming mates online with someone significantly older or younger than you is quite rare - which is what made one friendship pretty unusual.

This past weekend, a young Maryland rapper met up with an 81-year-old Florida woman he befriended through the online game Words with Friends. It's right in the feels.

Twenty-two-year-old Spencer, who lives in New York City but is from Silver Spring, Maryland, met Roz in West Palm Beach, Florida over a year after the pair met while playing the Scrabble-influenced online word game.

"We played 300+ games together and she actually ended up becoming a good friend of mine," Spencer wrote in a tweet about the meeting which has now gone viral. "Today I got to go to Florida and meet her in person."

Last summer, Spencer began playing Words With Friends with Roz, who lives in a retirement community in Florida.

Amy Butler, a pastor at The Riverside Church in upper Manhattan, helped set up the meeting between the pair after recounting their story in a sermon.

She then flew to Florida with Spencer and snapped the amazing moment the inter-generational pals met in person for the first time.

Spencer, who raps under the name 'High Class Filth', was quick to make it clear that although he and Roz are friends, they are firm rivals when playing WWF (not the wrestling kind).

The rapper posted a record of his matches with Roz, winning 210 out of their 324 games to date.

"She was not crushing me boy don't play with me," he said.

Well, that's that cleared up.

It all goes to show that maybe you should accept those Facebook game requests after all. You never know what will happen.
