We've all made mistakes in our time. For example, I once thought it was a good idea to wear a cheap pale blue swimming costume when I went to the pool with all my mates. Little tip for you, don't. Not unless you want to have embarrassing flashbacks for the rest of your life, anyway.
Gabriela Brandão, a freelance makeup artist from Florianópolis, Brazil, took to Facebook to share her nan's total howler. She realised that her relative's figurine of 'Saint Anthony' was actually of 'Elrond' from Lord of the Rings.
Her poor little nan had been praying to the statue every day.
The post translates to: "The funniest discovery of 2016: My daughter's great-grandmother prays to this figure of Saint Anthony every day, but looking more closely..."
Speaking to BuzzFeed, Gabriela said: "We tried to explain right away but she didn't understand at first.
"The next day we explained again and she understood and we got her a new figure of Saint Anthony."
No harm, no foul. And, actually, some people have been pointing out that it's not that much of a mistake in the first place. No, they think there are similarities between Saint Anthony and Elrond.
If this isn't a story to make your 2017 then we don't know what is. Let's hope we have a few more of these tales emerging when Amazon's Lord Of The Rings TV series arrives.
The streaming service has confirmed it is to produce the series, but opinion has been split on whether it is good or bad news among fans of the original books and films.
However, one thing that is surely good news is that Sir Ian McKellen is interested in reprising his film role as Gandalf for the TV series.
When recently asked about the role on the Graham Norton radio show, as it was implied another actor would take the part, Sir Ian said: "What do you mean, another Gandalf?"
He added: "I haven't said yes because I haven't been asked. But are you suggesting that someone else is going to play it? Gandalf is over 7,000 years old, so I'm not too old."
Sir Ian always has banter and it would be sweet to see him in the role if Amazon decides he is the only person who could play the iconic character. Tough gig for whoever gets the role instead.
