When most people think of a relaxing summer holiday, they picture themselves sprawled out on a sun lounger reading a book with the sound of waves gently crashing against the shore in their ears. What they don't think about is the reality of the situation. The constant arm cramps, the blinding sun in their eyes and back spasms whenever you want to tan the back of your legs. If this sounds all too familiar then you can find the solution on Amazon and eBay - beach chairs with holes for your face and arms.
The Ostrich Deluxe chair comes in vibrant neon green with an aluminum finish which will make everyone else on the beach green with envy as you flick through Harry Potter for the sixth time. It has a 'deluxe wrapped padded seat, footrest and lumbar pillow' too which I assume will make you feel like you're reclining on a small cloud.

It's great for those with wide arms too thanks to the sizable wooden armrests whilst the built-in cup holder will come in handy for those mid-chapter bevvies. It will set you back a hefty £108 though, but can you really put a price on comfort?
Yes, you can. And that price is £108.
If you decided that the price of comfort should be less than £108. then you could opt for the more wallet-friendly 'Outsunny Sun Lounger Folding Reclining Chair with Pillow and Reading Hole'.

Made from powder coated steel and white zinc metal fittings, this model promises to be highly durable and peel resistant, unlike you after you've woken up from an accidental seven hour nap.
The manufacturer helpfully points out that the reading hole is situated on the head part of the chair, which may be a turn off for those who prefer to read with the soles of their feet.
There have been mixed reviews for both models on Amazon. User RGELinny stated: "Face hole is really uncomfortable and digs into your neck," when talking about the cheaper option. Another user POS referred to the expensive model as: "an expensive pile of doo doo".

It's not all bad though, Amazon user Jan said: "Whilst its quite heavy (not really suitable for a trek across the beach) it really does function well as a sun lounger you can even put your arms and face through it to read from the ground whilst laying on your stomach."
Despite having face and arm holes, some people are still not 100% happy with the design. Avid beach reader Jess stated: "If the holes are so you can lie on your front it needs boob cavities too. I can't lie on my front for the boob reason. My face has a neck that lets me lie my face to the side. My boobs don't have a neck," which is a very valid point.
However if the Ostrich chair is a little out of your budget then eBay have some similar sun loungers at the lower end of the scale.
These eBay chairs have a similar face hole to the Ostrich chair but only cost £26.99 with free postage. Sounds like a bargain to me.

If you're after an invention to make your summer even more relaxing, why not combine the face hole chair with a mini beer keg for your kitchen?
