Lad Goes Out In Essex, Wakes Up In Barcelona, Snapchats Whole Thing

What a night.

We've all had some pathetically drunken nights that have resulted in us waking up in random locations such as an ex's bed, a bush or in the bathroom hugging the toilet. But few have woken up in an entirely different country.

Alexander Caviel, 21, downed Jagerbombs, a £90 bottle of champagne (who drinks champers on a night out?) and a load of Disaronno with his mates on a mad one in Chelmsford.

After the heavy session, Alex made the routine trip to a fried chicken shop. As he was there, he noticed a bus heading for nearby Stansted airport.

What happened next, Alex has little recollection of.

He told TheLADbible: "Around 3:30am I was 80% drunk, I can remember some of what was going on.

"I knew I had my passport for ID and some part of my drunken self thought it would be a good idea to fly somewhere.

"I think I slept for a while on the X30 bus but I'm not sure. I remember using Google Pay to book a last minute flight on a random travel app on my iPhone."

Shortly afterwards, he was £200 down and on his way to Barcelona on his own.

"Once I woke up on the plane I realised that all the decisions I made the night before were more than just a dream and were a lot more serious.

"When I was of a sound mind it hit me that I was touching down in Barcelona with an empty bottle of water, my wallet, iPhone, chewing gum and a very shiny, large face.

"I told my mates what had happened and they didn't believe me so I snapped a quick selfie on the plane, got off and called my mum."

He spent his first day walking around the city, painfully hungover, taking in the sights and making sure he had a hotel to stay in that night.

He recorded his random Barcelona adventure on Snapchat:

After staying in three separate hotels, Alex realised he'd spent enough money and time in Spain and decided to book a flight back to the UK.

Does he regret it? Of course not.

"Is it likely I will do this again? Yes. After doing it once it makes the chances much higher it will happen again, I can only hope it is somewhere close like France or Amsterdam because money doesn't grow on trees.

"I didn't break the law, I had an incredible night, didn't die and also had a great experience."

Fair play. But make sure you're safe out there, lads.
