Man shares driving hack to skip queuing traffic at junctions and people are divided

Man shares driving hack to skip queuing traffic at junctions and people are divided

He says the move will save you time and 'road rage'

A motorist has divided opinion with a driving hack he claims will save you a ‘hell of a lot of time’ and a ‘hell of a lot of road rage’, but not everyone is convinced.

TikTok user Danny Tower, or @dannytee13 as he’s known on the platform, shared a tip to avoid lengthy queues at busy junctions.

The TikTok user says it saves time and ‘road rage’.

The move is known as a ‘roundabout slingshot’ and the idea is that, rather than queuing in the left-hand lane and waiting to turn off along with all the other cars queuing to do the same thing, you charge down the empty right-hand lane, go all the way round the roundabout and then exit onto the turning you wanted to take in the first place.

This way, you theoretically get to beat the queue, make it onto the roundabout and have you turning ages before everyone else waiting to actually get onto the roundabout itself. Sneaky, eh?

In the clip,Tower said: “I’d say everybody knows this - but clearly they don’t because I’ve just skipped the queue and got around it really quickly.

“So if you’re going into a retail park and it’s chock-a-block - and there’s a roundabout with two lanes.” Tower went on to explain that usually, the lane going into the retail park is full, while the other a bit quieter - and that’s where his hack comes in.

"What you do is, you should drive as if you're not going into the retail park, go in the clear lane and when you get to the roundabout go all the way round and just cut through,” he said. “And you’re going to save yourself a hell of a lot of time and a hell of a lot of road rage.”

Others commented to say they too had used the hack, with one person writing: “Slingshot I do it all the time.”

Another said: “Yeah I do this all the time, people are sheep.”

Explaining how it works, someone else wrote: “It's a roundabout, he would take priority as he is coming from the right. Also people are too dumb for this to become a common occurrence so all good.”

However others thought the move might not go down too well with other motorists.

“Good luck getting let in,” said another TikTok user - before adding: “I always feel a bit t**tty doing it if it’s a small roundabout and people can see.”
