LAD Leaves Car In Town After Night Out, Returns To Find Fun Fair Built Around It

Not what you need when you've already got a sore head.

Is there any feeling worse than trekking to get your car back from town after a heavy night on the beer? Perhaps not.

All you want to do is lie on your back, stuffing chicken nuggets into your blotchy, bloated face, and instead you've got to get on a bus, full of actual people, and then walk through town. That will also be full of actual people, some of whom may have even witnessed your antics the night before.

It's a pretty dire state of affairs, but it could be worse - as one LAD from Ripley found out first-hand at the weekend.

Forty-five-year-old Martin Ross made the journey into town to pick up his white Lexus, only to find that a fun fair had been built around it.

But he said that once the initial horror had worn off, he actually found it quite funny.

Martin told the Derby Telegraph: "I was walking down towards the centre of town and I couldn't really see much until I saw them setting it up.

"I started to worry and was really thinking they've either towed it away or clamped it. I went to see that they've just built the fair round it instead.

"When I got there, there were a few fair workers who were laughing at me but it wasn't that hard to get out. I had to drive up the kerb and squeeze in between a tree and a bus shelter but I got out eventually.

"It wasn't as bad as I thought but I did get a bit scared to begin with."

Naturally, before attempting to resolve the situation, Martin pulled out his phone a managed to get a quick snap to send to his mates.

Martin's friend, Lee Simpkin, 43, did what any true friend would do and immediately posted the photo to social media.

It was posted on the 'Spotted in Ripley' Facebook page and received a fair (pun intended) bit of attention.

He said: "He sent it me and I thought it was absolutely brilliant.

"I don't think he knew I'd posted it but it was so funny I had to. My ribs were killing me after I found out."

So, next time you leave your car in town before a piss up, just make sure to check there aren't any events taking place in the car park the following day and you should be fine. There's nothing worse than a fun fair with a sore head.
