People Might Not Be Aware That Prince Harry And William Have A Step Sister

She's managed to keep herself out of the limelight since becoming part of the Royal family in the mid-2000s...

There are plenty of people in the UK and around the world who love the British Royal family. And they turn up in the droves every time the Royals attend the tons of public engagements they go to each year - all hoping to get a selfie or handshake from a genuine blue-blood.

But there's a member of the immediate Royal family that we virtually never see and know almost nothing about: Laura Lopes.

That name might not jump out as much as Prince William or Prince Harry, but the 40-year-old is actually their step-sister. She's the daughter of Camilla the Duchess of Cornwall and Andrew Bowles Parker, a retired British Army officer.

Naturally, when the Duchess remarried Charles the Prince of Wales, Laura became a part of this very famous family.

She was raised as a Roman Catholic, which kind of conflicts with the Church of England status of the British Royal Family.

But while Mrs Lopes works to keep herself out of the spotlight as much as possible, there are a few details that we know.

She married chartered accountant Harry Lopes in 2006 in Wiltshire, according to OK Magazine, which was attended by Prince William and Kate Middleton. About 400-500 people attended and a whopping 2,000 gathered outside to congratulate the new couple.

Together, they have a daughter named Eliza, born in 2008, followed by twin sons, Louis and Gus a year later.

To be fair, it's pretty bloody impressive to keep yourself away from the prying eyes of the media when your stepdad is the heir to the British throne.

But it wasn't for a lack of trying on behalf of the photographers, with Camilla telling You Magazine about the period when she was being linked to the Prince of Wales: "For about a year ... I couldn't really go anywhere. It was horrid.

"It was a deeply unpleasant time and I wouldn't want to put my worst enemy through it.

"I couldn't have survived it without my family.

"We used to keep binoculars in my mother's bathroom [at Middlewick House], and one of us would look out every morning to see how many paparazzi were hiding in the bushes ... it seemed entirely normal."

Laura even got to be a bridesmaid at Kate and Will's wedding extravaganza in 2011 - so it's not as if she's being barred from the core circle just because she's a step sister.

However, there's no word yet on whether she and her husband will be front row or even invited to Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's wedding in May.
