When you become newly single it's only a matter of time before a friend brings up Tinder, Bumble, Grindr or one of the many other dating apps on the market.

Setting them up can be a nervy old game: do I use this picture? Does this come across a little too beggy? Is that cringe central? What shall I write in my bio? Mysterious or unique?

Well, one person who took things to another level when it comes to doing something others haven't is Will Bartlett who set up a 'free date simulation'.

Drinking a bottle of wine and enjoying an Italian meal you can 'sit with' Will before skipping dessert, going on a romantic walk and ending up back at your place... best thing is - he's paying. Win win.

But where did this idea come from, you might ask? Well, speaking to LADbible, Will, 20, explained: "I was recently single and wanted to set up a Tinder but I had long hair whilst I was in a relationship so I didn't want to upload any pictures of me and my [old] hair.

"For a while I'd wanted to get some decent updated pictures of me and then when me and my friends went out for a mates birthday dinner I had the idea to take a picture of me all dressed up so I could use it for Tinder."

The first picture potential matches will see of Will.

Will, who is studying for a media degree at Salford University, continued: "Then once I'd seen the picture it occurred to me it looked like my friend opposite me taking the picture looks like they're on a date with me so I thought it would be funny to continue the 'date' through pictures.

"It was going to just be the dinner but then I thought we could take it further and have me leading a girl by the hand and then end up in the bedroom and then that's about it." Well, no one can say he isn't original.

Will and his pal took their photo-shoot to the next base.

But has it worked? Not that we're all going to leg it to the nearest Wetherspoon boozer, but it'd just be nice to know... honestly.

The part time event videographer and photographer, answered: "As for success, girls with a sense of humour seem to like it and I've chatted to a few but I haven't taken it any further yet to be honest."

Will explained that one did get in touch with him before adding: "But then I guess she was drunk because she unmatched.

"The only girl that messaged me first that I haven't unmatched put: 'ngl all the way through looking at your pics i couldn't help but think about how dedicated your friend must be to take those for you'." She's got a point.

Anyway, we hope your luck improves after this, Will. 10/10 for effort.
