It's only been a week and a bit since #chickengate broke out, and KFC has now also run out of gravy thanks to another delivery crisis. FFS.

Last week, fried chicken lovers were left fuming when it transpired that the popular fast food chain had run out of chicken - as in, the thing that they're most famous for.

There had been a major delivery cluck-up, with KFC saying in a statement that they'd brought DHL on board as a new delivery partner, but that they'd 'had a couple of teething problems'.

In the same statement, which was shared on Twitter, KFC also added: "We won't compromise on quality, so no deliveries has meant some of our restaurants are closed, and others are operating a limited menu, or shortened hours."

That's right - a limited menu, which in many instances has not included gravy, another KFC staple.

Even now, after KFC has said they've been able to re-open almost all 900 stores, they've still admitted that there are 'a number of our other usual ingredients missing'.

Miffed customers quickly boarded the lack-of-gravy-train and took to Twitter to air their grievances.

There were similar scenes at the drive thru windows, too, with one person tweeting: "When you have to leave @kfc drive thru because they have no gravy or sides!! I'm on me way @McDonalds you never let me down".

Another wrote: "Just been in for a drive thru. Limited menu means no chicken supply sorted out yet. Then no gravy and no till roll. Can't even add my points on!!!"

Others, meanwhile, seemed unfazed, taking it as the opportunity to have a dig at KFC for not having gravy in stores at the best of times anyway.

In a reply to one disappointed customer, KFC said that replacing gravy stocks was top priority:

Over the past fortnight KFC has had to dish out a fair few apologies thanks to the chicken - and now gravy - crisis. Courier company DHL has since also apologised for the KFC chicken shortage, saying in a statement: "Due to administrative issues a number of deliveries have been incomplete or delayed.

"We are doing our utmost to rectify the situation as soon as possible and apologise for any inconvenience this may have caused."
