The retired vicar who was left homeless after splitting up with his 24-year-old husband has said he's found love again, with an even younger man.

Seventy-nine-year-old Philip Clements, a retired Church of England vicar, has revealed he's begun a relationship with a 22-year-old biology student, the Telegraph reports.

Clements hit headlines late last year after his marriage with Romanian model Florin Marin ended and he became reliant on his pals for somewhere to kip.

Prior to their breakup, the former vicar sold his £215,000 home in the UK to relocate to Bucharest in Romania.

He purchased a flat, which he signed over to Marin so he would have 'security' after he died, but the pair decided to call it quits just weeks later.

Speaking at the time, he said: "I left very sadly and very unhappy. My friends in England were telling me I should leave him but I left with a very heavy heart.

"He came with me to the airport. I've lost everything really. I've lost my house and was in a poor state.

"I stayed with friends on alternate weeks until I was given a granny flat attached to one of my friend's houses."

However, now Clements is feeling optimistic about the future after meeting his new fella.

Opening up about his new relationship with the unnamed Romanian, he told the Telegraph: "I'm optimistic that there is a future beyond this terrible, devastating situation. I've got my church, my friends and family.

"I've got this new partnership and hopefully he'll be able to come over here and we can be together."

He told the paper that he met his new partner online after the man contacted him to offer his sympathies over the break down of his relationship with Marin.

He continued: "There was something about him that I liked - we got into texting each other and it went from there."

The pair met up recently, with Clements flying back to Romania to meet him. He said the man is now considering coming to the UK in the summer after he completes his degree.

Adding: "Age doesn't matter to me. He's learning from me about life and I'm learning from him - he preserves my youth."

He also told the paper he now plans to get a divorce from Marin, who is believed to have started a new relationship with Spanish businessman Jeronimo Jesus de Vega.
