A mum was left 'hysterical' after complaining that her £40 ($56) Ikea toilet seat was 'blue' instead of white - only for her daughter to peel off the protective film just minutes later.
Marie Stent, 48, from St Neots in Cambridgeshire, bought the toilet seat while visiting her daughter in Sheffield, but began 'freaking out' when she thought it was blue, having lost the receipt.
Marie had just started coming to terms with the sad reality that she would now have a blue toilet seat in her classic mocha-coloured family bathroom.

That was until her daughter Amber, 18, pointed out that the blue plastic cover could be peeled off, and quite easily at that...
Law student Amber shared the banter on Twitter, which has since gone viral after racking up 146,000 likes and 29,000 retweets.
Sharing the snaps, Amber wrote: "So Mum bought a £40 toilet seat from Ikea, gets home and starts freaking out because it's bright blue and she's chucked away the receipt.
"After about 30 mins of accepting it she's finally got her head around the idea of having a blue toilet, until I come and read the label."

She later added: "Who knew a tweet about a toilet seat would be so poppin?"
We're not sure either, Amber.
A diagram on the 'Ekaren' seat shows the buyer how to peel the blue protective film off and we have to say it's quite self explanatory - sorry, Marie.
Amber, a student at Newcastle University, told LADbible: "She opened it and was yelling downstairs to me saying 'Oh my God, it's blue I thought it was white'.

"I came downstairs about 30 minutes later to see what the fuss was about, took one look at it, saw the label and just started laughing.
"I started to peel it and when she saw it she was hysterical. She said that she'd got her head around the idea of having a blue toilet seat.
"Then I tweeted it not expecting it to get this popular. I showed her it yesterday morning when I woke up as it had gone from 700 likes to more than 30k.
"She finds the whole thing hilarious and even put it on Facebook to show all her mates she's viral."

Amber added: "The bathroom has dark brown floors and like a grey/mocha wall so it probably wouldn't have looked horrific."
But Marie told LADbible: "I couldn't believe it was blue and was completely shocked when Am peeled it away. I was a bit relieved as I didn't think that a loo seat costing that much would be that colour!"
In a bid to help save Amber's mum too much humiliation, other Twitter users admitted that Marie, a service delivery manager, was not the first to make this mistake.

One user said: "That happened to me too and to my shame I returned it."
Another added: "Me, too, was pointed out at the till 'you sure you don't want it, it is white you know - you thought it was blue didn't you?' We are not alone it happens a lot".
Someone else said: "I've had a blue radio sitting on my nightstand for three months. I thought it was coming apart and just realised it's a plastic cover. I wonder why they do this!"
We can't help but shake our heads and smile, LADs.
