It's common for people to have a drink or two before heading on a flight. Either you don't want to have to pay for the exorbitant prices during the journey, you're afraid of flying or you just want to celebrate going on a holiday.

But you always try to keep a limit on it, otherwise you can run into issues, much like one woman who was a bit too excited to fly from Manchester to Cyprus.

A 23-year-old woman got on an Easyjet flight last night with a few of her mates and they got a bit rowdy.

One passenger said: "They were all very drunk, drinking their own drinks on the flight. And they started swearing and fighting and threatening other passengers."

Eventually, the crew onboard decided to divert the plane to Athens and that's where things got intense.

A flyer recorded the young woman screaming at the crew, saying: "Are you taking the piss?"

She yelled: "Do you want me to be a prostitute?" alluding to the idea that she would have to sell her body to be able to pay for a flight back to Manchester.

The shouting match continued until the woman burst into tears, saying how worried she was that she'd get raped if she was removed from the plane.

A crew member said to her: "Listen to me. Do you want to walk off here or do you want to be dragged off in a pair of handcuffs?"

The woman replied: "I'm scared. I just want to go home.... Please take me home... Please. I don't even want to go on holiday. Please take me home."

But unfortunately it was too late for her and she was escorted off the plane. The aircraft was supposed to hit Cyprus and then return to Manchester on the same night, but the drama meant the second leg had to be postponed until the next day.

A spokesman for easyJet said: "EasyJet can confirm that flight EZY1975 from Manchester to Paphos on 23 March was diverted to Athens and met by the police on arrival where four passengers were offloaded as a result of disruptive behaviour onboard and the flight continued to Paphos once the passengers were offloaded.

"EasyJet's crew are trained to assess and evaluate all situations and to act quickly and appropriately to ensure that the safety of the flight and other passengers is not compromised at any time.

"Whilst such incidents are rare we take them very seriously, do not tolerate abusive or threatening behaviour onboard and always push for prosecution.

"The safety and wellbeing of passengers and crew is always easyJet's priority."
