Life can be full of trauma and difficulties, but one woman is a wonderful reminder to the rest of us that we should always look on the bright side - no matter what.

That's what 28-year-old beautician Martine Kilminister did after doctors diagnosed her with spine cancer out of the blue. Four weeks after medics discovered a stage four cancerous tumour on her spine, Martine lost the ability to walk.

But eight weeks after that happened, Martine married the love of her life, Christopher Kilminister in her wheelchair - and with a huge smile on her face.

And the joyous, heartwarming and emotional moment when Christopher lifted her out of her wheelchair without warning so they could have their first dance - to Aerosmith's 'I Don't Want To Miss A Thing' - was captured on video.

"I had no idea that Christopher was going to pick me up out of my wheelchair, but it was an amazing surprise," Martine said.

"I'm paralysed from the waist down but Christopher still managed to ensure we had our first dance in each other's arms.

"It took just four weeks to plan our dream day and it was a great distraction after my devastating diagnosis."

Having been together for 12 years, the pair decided to tie the knot after Martine's diagnosis, which also came with the news she had no more than 18 months left to live.

"When I lost the feeling in my legs last month we all thought it was a trapped nerve at first," she said. "'I'd been battling with severe back pain for a few months but doctors just thought it was muscular spasms.

"I've been diagnosed with stage 4 spinal glioblastoma and I've got just six to 18 months left to make as many memories as possible.

"Our wedding day was the most amazing day of our lives, we'd been engaged for years but when we heard about my diagnosis, we knew we needed to plan our big day fast.

"I had a hen do with my closest friends and family just a few weeks ago and tied the knot last weekend.

"It was hectic planning it all in such a short amount of time but I've always wanted to marry Christopher."

Here's to the happy couple, you're an inspiration to us all.
