Everyone knows Microsoft Paint. It's the free graphics editor that comes with all Windows computers, allowing budding artists to test out their design skills - or make a living, if you're Jim'll Paint It.

Now one elderly Spanish woman has been taking Instagram by storm as she's been using the software to create incredible art of her own.

Concha García Zaera, an 87-year-old grandma from Valencia, Spain, was encouraged to start sharing her creations on the social media platform by one of her granddaughters. She's only been on Instagram for four months but is proving phenomenally successful, and you can see why.

Apparently Zaera used to paint oil paintings, but after her children bought her a PC she decided to complete her paintings electronically via a mouse instead, she told Radio Valencia.

She explained that she started the habit 12 years ago after she could no longer attend oil painting classes due to needing to care for her husband.

"My husband fell ill and I had to take care of him, so I couldn't go out very often," Zaera explained to El Mundo. "I began painting little things: first, a house, the next day I'd add a mountain... Step by step, I was adding details, and in the end, the result was a very pretty thing."

Some of her paintings have taken her over a month to finish, and according to La Vanguardia one of her main sources of inspiration is the postcards that her husband used to send to her.

"I don't have any imagination, I don't know how to do anything if it isn't copying," Zaera acknowledged, self-deprecatingly. "So I'm inspired by the postcards that my husband sent me or in drawings that I see."

Until a few weeks ago Concha had a small but passionate following on Instagram of 361 followers - not bad for someone who ultimately prefers to enjoy time with her friends and family.

That was until one Twitter user caught wind of her efforts and decided she deserved a little more attention.

"She's called Concha García Zaera (that's her name on Facebook)," the Spanish-language tweet said. "She is 87 years old, lives in Valencia, and is an ARTIST. She does incredible works with Paint. Retweet to give her recognition."

People certainly did that - at the time of writing, Zaera's Instagram now has over 126,000 followers, all there to appreciate her art.

Now the grandmother is getting used to her newfound Internet fame, which she admits still bemuses her slightly.

"I don't really understand why my drawings draw so much attention, I think they're very simple things," she told Vanguardia.

They're far better than that, Concha. We hope we're as cool as you when we're 87.
