Guy's Head Gets So Sunburned It Swells To Twice Its Size

We've all stayed out in the sun a bit too long and looked like a bit of a lobster afterwards, but how often does it turn you into a supervillain?

This past summer, Twitter user Cade Huckerbay from Liberty County, Texas, accidentally caught too many rays while he was out mowing a field. He has now shared the results to hilarious effect.

The then 20-year-old, who'd decided to shave his head not long before, not only got himself rather sunburned - but found his top of his head swelling to twice its normal size.

The swelling ended up lasting for around four or five days - and even left him able to put a dent in his head that would last up to half an hour at a time.

"I was mowing a big field and ended up being out without a hat much longer than I had anticipated," Cade told LADbible. "Safe to say I paid the price."

"It hurt for the first day or two, but after that it was just swollen. I remember at one point I had to undo all of the snaps on my hat to get it to fit on my head," he said.

Cade explained that the pictures were taken on the second day post-burn when he was at 'peak head mass'.

"My head looked and felt like a blob of Play-Doh," he added.

It's safe to say that Cade's decision to share his plight on Twitter cracked people up; at the time of writing, his original tweet has now been liked almost 200,000 times.

It also led Twitter users to make unflattering comparisons between Cade and other big-headed figures including the moon emoji, a crumpled baby doll and the animated movie bad guy Megamind:

Thankfully, Cade's sunburn soon cleared up with ibuprofen and some ice, and he was more than happy to have a laugh at his own expense.

"I think it's great that we can all laugh at my pain," he said cheerily.

But there was a lesson to be learnt from all of this, of course, as Cade advised people to stay safe while out in the sun.

"Word to the wise, wear sunscreen," he warned in response to his original tweet. Unless you want to gain super-powers, that is.
