Every year, green thumbs around the world marvel at the Chelsea Flower Show. While flowers and horticulture might not be for everyone, there's no denying that the floral pieces that people produce are bloody incredible.

People have transformed their back gardens into epic masterpieces, but they still don't compare to some of the stuff at the CFS.

But one bloke wants to prove that you don't need to have a massive budget and real plants to wow a crowd.

Wolverhampton LAD Rob Dicken decided there wasn't nearly enough green stuff around his balcony and wanted to spruce up the place for when has a pint and a cigarette.

So he grabbed a bunch of window boxes, cut up an astroturf mat and produced this beautiful amalgamation of street and nature.

I know what you're thinking right now: "Concrete jungle where dreams are maaaaaade." Who wouldn't want to have a smoke and a beer right here.

Well, the 47-year-old didn't want to bask in his creation alone, so he got in touch with the Royal Horticultural Society to see if he could enter the window boxes into this year's Chelsea Flower Show.

He wrote: "In these times of austerity I think it's important to acknowledge making use of limited outdoor space in urban areas on a tight budget.

"Behold, and bow to my awesomeness and witness the beauty of a £5 (reduced as it was slightly soiled...no pun intended) AstroTurf doormat I cut into strips and placed in my window boxes.

"As you can see from the pictures it is perfect for inner city living. I'm making good use of the beer garden and smoking area already. I look forward to your enthusiastic response and offers of a prime slot at your wonderful event."

Incredibly, he didn't just get a reply from the RHS. Instead, he got something pretty brilliant.

"Hi Rob, Thank you for your submission," said Daisy (teehee) from the RHS. "We were all fascinated to see what you've done with such little space and resource.

"We totally see how this would be excellent for young professionals who can't afford anything, ever.

"I've put your name down for Chelsea 2019 and we will be in touch. In the meantime, we hope you've enjoyed the bank holiday sunshine in your beer garden."

Look, the idea that a person named Daisy replied is brilliant enough, but for the savage moment of 'young professionals who can't afford anything, ever', was just premium banter.

Rob says that he genuinely wasn't even expecting the RHS to reply but the fact that they got back to him with that message made his day.
