A mum has gone viral after admitting she thought she was 'going mad' when money kept going missing from her purse.

Mum Rachel Thornhill, who blogs under the name ' Staying sane as a mummy of 3 ', shared her confusion on social media.

Rachel wrote on Facebook: "Have been convinced for weeks that I'm going slightly mad (or madder than usual!).

"Money kept vanishing from my purse! A pound here, 20p there, nothing major but coins I'm sure had been there now weren't.

"But I drew the line when I misplaced actual £20 notes that I'd just got out of the cashpoint for a weekend of festivity!"

She looked all over the place until the reason for the change, until eventually the reason her money doing a disappearing act became clear.

"A thorough search of the house turned up nothing... until I settled down for a spot of role play with Esme! Found a grand total of £67.85 in her toy till!

"Seemed she's making a fortune from plastic sweet corn and a can of fake alphabet soup!"

It turned out her kid had been using real money in her plastic till - the story has now been shared more than 1,000 times on Facebook.

Rachel isn't the only mum story to go viral on social media recently.

Laura Mazza, who blogs on Facebook under the name Mum on the Run, described on Facebook how she walked into her young son's bedroom and spotted a mouse close to his chest of drawers.

Without wanting to ruin it for you, it turned out to be a tiny toy leopard.

Well I'll be damned!
