This 'Cracking' Glass Bridge Is Absolutely Terrifying

Reckon you'd give this a go?

You know those glass bridges that thrill-seekers can walk along and pretend they're not absolutely shitting themselves?

Well, this one in China is designed to 'crack' when you step on it. And a clip of some poor bastard (the first one in the clip below) getting the fright of his life on the bridge is now going viral.

Who signed off on this? I mean, it's hilarious but bloody hell.

The glass walkway around the eastern face of the Taihang Mountain in Hebei, China is around 1,180 metres above the ground and gives visitors great views, assuming you don't die of a heart attack first.

After the clip went viral, the company behind the bridge had to issue a public apology, to explain that it was just an 'effect' and that the man wasn't in any danger.

It goes on to explain that the designers of the genuinely terrifying bridge had put broken glass shards inside some of the panels, so it looks and feels like the glass is breaking but you're safe.

The creators said they are 'very sorry that people got frightened', but won't be making any changes to the structure, because they want people to come along and have a good scare - and, fair play to them, they've certainly got a lot of free advertising after this clip started doing the rounds.

To add another layer to this already weird story, the company then went on to say the man, who appears to be a tour guide, knew the bridge and was just playing a bit of a joke on a group of tourists. Well, that's it, I've got absolutely no sympathy for the fella now. Although the poor fella in the clip who is being dragged on to the bridge, he has all of my sympathy.

Despite the company's insistence that everything is fine and it's all just a good scare - many people took to Chinese social media site Weibo to say that there's still a very good risk that it could give someone a heart attack.

Scare attractions are big business, especially as we come up to Halloween. I can see people dragging along their unsuspecting pals to this and swiftly ending their friendship forever.
