Catching the train home at night can bring with it many emotions. You never know who is going to get on your carriage - they might make you feel uncomfortable, nervous, nothing at all, and then there are some that just make you laugh.

So if you were riding on the Lilyfield Line on Melbourne's Metro last night, then you certainly would have been treated to the latter.

An unknown man decided to jazz up the evening commute by dropping his dacks, taking off his top and sliding down a carriage.

The man, who was also sporting an incredible mullet, ran to the end of one carriage, with more than a dozen people cheering him on. He managed to slide several metres thanks to a mysterious liquid on the train floor.

The floor of a train is probably one of the dirtiest places you can find so you can only imagine what would have been on that bloke's chest after the stunt.

The clip of the hilarious act was posted on the Lilydale Line Facebook group and has absolutely gone viral, with nearly 20,000 people liking, sharing and commenting on the post.

Patriotism was high on the agenda, with one person writing: "This is what it means to be Australian."

Another proud Aussie said: "This is the most Australian video I've seen all year."

Then there were people who were concerned for the man's welfare, with one person saying: "Jeez he's brave bloke. I wouldn't want my night tool scraping across the ground like that."

But another noted that it's just a nice, uplifting moment that should be celebrated, writing on Facebook: "Listen if everyone was having fun and no one got stabbed then that's a step up."

Sadly, it seems like not everyone is cheering over the video, namely the Metro service.

A spokesperson for the Metro told Channel 9: "Passenger safety is Metro's number one priority and this type of behaviour is completely unacceptable on public transport.

"If passengers witness anything of this nature on board a train, we urge them to press the emergency call button to alert Metro staff or to call police.

"We encourage our passengers to be mindful of those around them, which means behaving in a respectful and community-minded way."

It certainly seems as though the people around the naked mullet man were absolutely loving the stunt and would even want him to do it again.
