Could The Dear David Ghost Be Hiding Behind This Mysterious Hatch?

Adam Ellis claims he is being haunted by a ghost child called Dear David. Now, he might have discovered where this supernatural being lives.

If you haven't heard about Dear David, he (it?) is a child ghost who has supposedly been haunting a man in New York called Adam Ellis.

Ellis has been reporting reported mysterious and spooky goings on involving the dented-headed ghost via his Twitter account, which includes seeing Dear David's misshapen dome on a statue in Japan.

Once night, Dear David appeared while Ellis was experiencing sleep paralysis, and the ghost revealed that he died in a store when somebody pushed a shelf onto him. Why he'd be haunting an apartment, then we have no idea.

But Ellis has also seen DD - and taken photographs of him - in his apartment. He's since moved, however - to the apartment above his old one, and that's where his supernatural story continues.

In his new unit, Ellis heard a noise that sounded like something falling onto the floor above him. Except there is no floor above him - just a roof he doesn't have access to, as the diagram below handily demonstrates.

There is, however, a mysterious hatch in the ceiling of his apartment, which Ellis thinks may lead to some sort of crawlspace, but he's not sure.

After a few days of hearing thing go bump in the dark, though, he's finally ready to find out and see if Dear David has made his home in this odd and spooky compartment above his apartment.

And so, Ellis bought a 16 foot long pole from Amazon in order to find out what the hell is going on. It's due to arrive any day now, so we'll soon find out the answer to this tantalizingly well-told hoax. We mean terrifying story.

Ellis' Twitter followers have had various reactions. Some are taking the whole thing - and especially this newest development - with the tiniest pinch of salt:

Others, however, are suspending their disbelief and willing Ellis to find out and reveal to everyone what the hell is up there. Assuming he survives, that is...
