Unfortunately, due to our collective dirty minds, we end up seeing something very NSFW in the most innocent of things. If you come in at the wrong moment then it's easy to misinterpret the situation because you don't have any context of what's happening.
That couldn't apply for more for Adam Tranter, who was watching Fireman Sam with his twin boys.
While the British cartoon usually details the story of the loveable firefighter, the dad of two couldn't help but wonder if he was watching an adult version of the show.
If you watch the clip he posted onto Twitter, you wouldn't be alone in thinking that Elvis Cridlington was getting a bit intimate with Station Officer Steel. The facial expressions of both characters certainly don't help with Elvis grimacing and the older bloke looking like he's in a state of ecstasy.
I'm not going to lie, it took me a solid minute to work out that the fireman had got himself stuck in his chair and the white moustached gentleman was just helping him out of the predicament. The minds of the animators of the show clearly aren't nearly as morally corrupt as the rest of us.
Dozens of people on Twitter were also slightly shocked at the out-of-context moment.
Thankfully, most kids wouldn't have a clue that this scene could be interpreted as anything but a silly, slapstick moment where someone got stuck in a chair. Oh, the beauty of innocence.
But there are plenty of things that we probably all missed as kids and it's only on reflection as an adult that could be considered a bit naughty.
Take the Biff and Chip books, which were a cornerstone of the British school curriculum, but a quick glance over some of the illustrations will reveal something a bit scandalous.
Ed Brody, aka @chiefbrody1984, spotted the background scenes and posted some of them to Twitter, with other users digging out their own copies to find similarly unbecoming escapades.
One, which has been retweeted nearly five thousand times, includes the character Wilma playing in a field, while in the bushes behind him, a group of middle-aged men are congregating. The next panel shows an old lady having appeared where the men were, sporting a decidedly shocked expression - with many people believing it's a sly nod to gay cruising.
Another, posted by Twitter user @lellabells, shows a girl's changing room after a PE session, with a female teacher and plenty of schoolgirls. All very wholesome, except for one creepy, smiling bloke in the corner, sporting a reverend's collar
A third image, posted by @danhigham is even more blatant. This one has kids playing with building blocks and generally having a sweet time, however if you look closely, the blocks seem to spell out 'hepatitis'.
Maybe it's worth checking over all the stuff you read as a kid to see whether the author was trying to say something.
