The Black Friday sales seem to last well over a week now, making the name kind of redundant, with some retailers pushing their pre-Christmas sales as early as Monday.

And, as much as I love to moan about everything, there are actually some pretty good savings to be made, but you need to be careful, because there's also loads of Black Friday scams.

The sales are already in full-swing and if you're not the type of the person who is willing to clothes-line an 80-year-old woman in Asda to pick up a flat screen telly with £100 off, then you might consider doing it all online.

Whichever way you shop - and this might go without saying - you should definitely avoid buying anything from a truck.

An unnamed woman from the US, said she spotted a black truck, festooned with balloons and a sign reading: 'Black Friday Sale'. In a video the woman explains that she spotted the truck and thought she would check out his wares.

She says: "They have everything you could name: clothes, shoes, watches, purse, bundles of hair, DVDs, CDs - everything - phones, laptops.

"So, I ask the guy about the iPhone 6 and he's like, "ah yeah, today, I will give it to you for $100"."

She goes on to explain that she asked to see the phone, which the man told her was already activated and had a bill due the middle of next month, so he passed her an iPhone 6 and even let her ring it to check it working.

She passed him the hundred dollars and left with what she thought was the phone, only to get get home, open the box and find spuds.

In the clip she can be heard counting the potatoes - there's 11 - before asking, "what the heck am I supposed to do with this?!"

To add insult to injury, the scammer had also included an Android charger in the box. Ouch.
