There are some big life questions out there, like what happens to us when we die? Who am I, really? Could I be living in the Matrix? Is there such a thing as fate? What's the meaning of life?
But while we've been pondering all that, we've neglected to address the real mysteries we have on this earth... like what the hell happens inside a dishwasher once you've shut the door and turned it on?
Most of them sound like there's a lot of action and drama going on (what with all that wooshing and banging and splashing), but the second you open the door - even mid-way through the cycle - all you see is a disappointing, dribbly mess.

Thankfully, the good people of Twitter have recently decided to discuss what's going on, after one person said he'd just realised he'd never questioned it, theorising that for all he knew, 'there could be a tiny man in there washing each dish by hand'. I mean, he's got a point.
People were quick to reply with similar levels of baffled.
Is it the same little man that turns the light off in the fridge when you close the door? Is there some kind of watery circus show going on inside? C'mon, it must be something good. Like we said, it sounds good.

Some people even said they were gonna put their GoPro in there to see what the craic is.
That's when a bunch of GIFs and videos came in to explain it all.
Even the folk behind Cascade got in touch to say that they'd been wondering the same thing, and had put a camera in a dishwasher to find out once and for all - leading us to realise that it really is as dull as we probably knew it really was deep down.

Damn. Good hustle, though, Internet. Gotta admit, though, it's pretty disappointing that there's no little man in there scrubbing away.
