A woman has shared the extremely insensitive messages her boyfriend sent to her, before she decided that she's actually better off without him and ending it.
Taking to Twitter, Shelby Johnson posted a series of messages between her and her fella, in which he said she had a 'beer gut' and that he was concerned her 'gut might stick out more than [his]'. Sounds like a lovely chap.
When sharing the screenshots, Shelby initially posted asking for advice writing: "I am 120 pounds. I have been for about 5 months. My partner said this to me. Am I overreacting for feeling hurt by this? I'm at a loss and just can't even comprehend how someone who claims to love me can say this."

It wasn't long before she was flooded with responses from people telling her to get rid - her original post has been liked almost 40,000 times and has attracted over 5,000 comments.
She followed up her post with a second one to say that she was the same weight as when she met her partner two months back.
And then shared a number of photos of herself from her teen years to now:
Shelby went on to say that she had taken on-board the advice of the thousands of people commenting and that she would be ending things when she next saw her boyfriend, writing: "I will be seeing him tomorrow and dropping a hefty 180 pounds." Well, I can't say I blame her, really.

She also thanked Twitter users who had reached out to her, saying: "The support I got is amazing. I really
thought only my few twitter friends would reply!"
In a later update she wrote:
In an extra twist to the tale, her boyfriend then realised that he'd be a bit foolish and apologised to Shelby - again via text - but it was too late.
Well, I guess there's nothing like going viral to make you realise the error of your ways, eh?
