Sabina Mach has appeared on-screen alongside the likes of Steven Seagal and Post Malone, but when she's not working, you're more likely to find her hanging out with foxes, peacocks and bears.

The Texan's love of animals goes back to her childhood, growing up alongside creatures great and small.

Mach believes she has developed a special affinity with nature over the years, enabling her to talk to and tame wild species.

"I feel like they can sense my energy," Mach told LADbible.

"Animals are just like people, that's my opinion; their brain, their psychology, their personality, everything is based on how you treat them."

She continued: "If an animal is aggressive, I believe it's always a human's fault, because they've done something to aggravate it - not necessarily the person that interacted with it, but in the past, because you don't know.

"Especially if you encounter a wild animal, you don't know if it's been hunted before, if it has been shot at... you have no idea."

But while the actor and model has handled all kinds of creatures, she's aware that there can be no guarantees when interacting with a wild animal.

Mach spent time with rescued animals while living in Bulgaria.

Mach said: "Everyone is aware that even if an animal has been nice all the time, there can be that one time where it's not. And that happens all the time.

"So you just never know, I go in thinking you just never know.

"And obviously it doesn't work with any animal. Like, you can't run up to one and be like, 'Oh my God, come here, I want to cuddle'. They'll just run away."

To get it right, Mach believes it all boils down to your 'energy'.

She said: "If you go in with a nice energy and you just sit there and observe and maybe it will come up to you, or you'll get closer slowly.

"Then the animal will get curious because they're like, 'Oh, what's going on? Like, this person is not running up to me being loud and screaming'.

"But once they get to you or they get closer and they feel the energy, you reach out to them and you start communicating with them."

Going forward, Mach, who has five dogs of her own, wants to spend much more time with animals - as their company can make for a refreshing change when you work in showbiz.

She said: "There is always that dirty side of the business, which I don't like at all.

"And that's not the experience with animals, because they don't care about the materialistic and all that stuff."
