We've all had a horrendous spot that we just need to get rid of. You know, the sort when you look in the mirror and think, 'That one needs to go immediately'.

Well, one bloke has taken boil bravery to another level as frankly gross footage has emerged of him spotting a throbbing cyst just above his jawline and literally taking matters into his own hands.

WATCH FRED SQUEEZING OUT THE CYST BELOW:

Fred Ward, 23, from Ontario, Canada regularly suffers from staphylococcal infections (more commonly known as 'staph' infections). This time, instead of waiting to be treated, he decided to get rid of the cyst which had been growing on his face for four days.

The video shows Fred taking out the painful cyst in his bathroom at home, filmed by his friends who struggle to keep their lunch in throughout. Can't say we blame them.

Ward, a facility assistant, is shown poking and squeezing the cyst, eventually resorting to using tweezers in an attempt to pull all of the sucker out.

After several minutes of trying, Fred was still unable to empty the cyst completely as pus is seen hanging off his jaw. Thankfully, though, Fred has since made a full recovery from the infection. Thank God for that.

"I'm still not sure what caused the infection and it's still being investigated," Fred said. "I decided to drain it myself once it appeared ready."

"I have had 10 or so of these exact infections and didn't want to have to go and wait at the hospital again as I was already being prescribed proper antibiotics by my doctor."

Fred originally saw a doctor to have the cyst emptied but said the initial draining was unsuccessful because of a 'visible build-up' outside of the growth.

He is regularly seeing doctors for his condition as boils such as these continue to pop up on his body.

"It was extremely painful to the touch and would throb as the days went on," Fred added.

"[Thankfully] it has fully cleared up and left little to no scarring."

In case you haven't heard of 'staph' infections before, they are caused by the bacterium staphylococcus, a group of bacteria including the dreaded hospital bug MRSA.

According to NHS Choices, 'staph' infections can range from minor skin infections like Fred's to serious ones affecting the blood, lungs and heart, so you could say that Fred actually got off lightly.

Still, we don't envy him having that thing on his face. Next time, let's just hope his mates don't video it.
