Meet Theodora, Who Has Made A Fortune From Being A Financial Dominatrix

What with the economy the way it is right now - ie not very good at all - a lot of people are thinking about switching careers. Many are also wishing they'd invested in Bitcoin when it was worth next to nothing and not almost $20,000.

If you're one of those people, then becoming a financial dominatrix could well be the perfect career move. That's what a woman who's known only as Theodora - or, more accurately, The Only Theodora - has done and she is apparently reaping the rewards.

According to MarketWatch, who published a profile and interview with the Paris-based Theodora, many of her clients derive sexual pleasure from giving her gifts and money. "Well, of course," you're saying, "but imagine the things she has to do and the people she has to meet to receive that stuff."

Well, actually, she has a large number of clients that she's never even met in person. As financial dominatrix she receives a variety of different payments, ranging from just several dollars in what she calls "tribute" to gifts of more than six figures. It's alright for some, eh?

Even more bizarre is that some clients get sexual satisfaction from becoming "human ATMs", which means giving Theodora complete control over their bank account. Or one of them. That's something that would just give us a heart attack.

Of course, a financial dominatrix wouldn't be doing her (or his) job properly if they didn't accept cryptocurrencies and Theodora, who has been working as a dominatrix for eight years has been accepting Bitcoin and other forms for digital currency for four years.

According to the article, Theodora specializes in "femdom hypnosis," a process through which she says she's able to dominate men using hypnotism.

Her clients are all men - usually in their late 30s to early 50s and from the UK or US - and include a core group of high rolling big spenders who make donations as up to $100,000 at once and who actually get to meet her in the flesh.

There are apparently also 200 to 300 people who make contributions online, most of whom never meet her in person. Instead she talks to them online or by phone, charging $25 a minute for them to call and $69 a minute - nice - to be spoken to.

"It's a form of psychological domination where money is the tool for the transfer of power," Theodora told MarketWatch. "It's quite common for powerful men like politicians or CEOs to look for a form of sexual release by submitting to a woman - they are in control all the time during the day - and giving up control financially is a more tangible instrument of power for them."

Theodora says she's earned more than a $1 million doing what she does. So there you have it. We clearly missed our vocation.
