Being dumped is never easy, but being dumped because your other half is sick of getting attacked by the ghost of a seven-foot tall circus ringmaster, well, that's quite a different type of pain.
And it's a pain thirty-seven-year old Ed Booker knows only too well. Ed claims the horrifying entity followed him home from an exorcism and has since set its sights on ruining his life.
Ed, from Worthing, West Sussex claims unexplainable things have happened since he went along to a paranormal cleansing ritual, leading him to believe something has latched on to him.

He said: "This ghost is ruining my life. My ex was attacked and pinned down. I've had mediums come in and they've been attacked too.
"I've woken up with painful scratches down my arm. I feel like I'm in real danger.
"It has destroyed my relationship, my health is still suffering quite a lot.

"I'm always depressed; once I get out of the house I perk up but my mood drops as soon as I go back in.
"I don't know why it seems to want me. People have said it's not the flat that's evil, it's you - it's attached itself to you."

Ed, who has always had an interest in the paranormal, says that his health has quickly gone downhill since he attended an exorcism at the home of a family with a teenage son who had been tormented by an evil spirit. The events of that night were recently chronicled in Channel 4 docudrama True Horror.
"We didn't like it as soon as we walked through the front door. Even the sceptics in the group didn't want to go in," said Ed.
"When it came to do the clearing it just felt wrong. There were a lot of spirits there, all very negative.
"Then this figure came up in the middle of us - I can only describe it as a circus ringmaster, dressed all in black with a big top hat and a shovel on its shoulder.

"It was just staring at us with a grin full of dirty, broken teeth.
"It was an awful experience really. You never dream of something like this happening but it is real and it can happen."
Ed says that since that day friends had commented on a tall shadowy figure they spotted hanging around him. He also claims to have been able to capture some photographs of the ghost.
He also says he's woken up with scratches and has spotted the spirit chilling at the end of his bed before now.
He added: "Some days it disappears into the background, and I think perhaps it's gone with someone else. But it's never far away."

Barry Guy, of the Ghostfinder Paranormal Society, says Ed should seek help from a professional medium or priest in order to get his life back on track.
"Demons are there to ruin your life - he will be tormented by it, made to fear it," he said.
"Demonic entities are tough to get rid of. It sounds like he needs an exorcism himself."
