'I'M A B&B', a sign out front at Dog Bark Park reads - a helpful notice, given that the building is also in the shape of a giant beagle.

Located in rural Idaho, at the edge of Cottonwood, Dog Bark Park is a B&B with one hell of a twist.

"Stay in a giant dog!" the Airbnb listing reads. "That's right, it's a beagle-shaped one-unit inn where being in this doghouse is a GOOD thing and comfortable to boot!"

It costs £102 ($136) a night, and sleeps four people across one double bedroom and a twin room. On site there's also an adjacent Dog Bark Park visitor centre, gift shop and artist studio, where the owners Dennis and Francis create canine carvings by chainsaw.

What else is there to do at Dog Bark Park, once you've finished gawping at the giant dog? Well, you can hang out with a real dog, as there's a resident golden retriever that 'lives and works' with Dennis and Frances. The place is animal-friendly for guests, too, welcoming 'responsible dogs who arrive with their well-behaved humans'.

Once you've run around the yard with your four-legged pal, you can cosy up with a library of books, games and puzzles - many of which are dog-themed, naturally - or sit out on the second storey deck and enjoy the views of prairie grain fields and surrounding mountains. Wait for darkness to fall and you can look up at the starry sky from the garden.

While the main attraction of your stay would no doubt be Dog Bark Park itself, nearby you'll find the famed Hells Canyon Gorge of the Snake River, which can be explored by jet boat tours between spring and autumn. You can also peruse Nez Perce native history and culture, with 'interpretive sites and towns nearby'.

Frances and Dennis would be forgiven for resting on their laurels with this one - their laurels being a giant dog known locally as Sweet Willy, of course, so pretty solid as laurels go. But according to former guests, this apparently isn't the case.

"Dog Bark Park is simply a wonderful, magical place," one previous guest, Megan, writes in the reviews section. "Our children had been looking forward to staying in the 'dog house' for weeks and it lived up to the expectations."

"This was honestly the best B&B stay we've ever had, and we've stayed in quite a few," writes another visitor, Spencer. "Frances and Dennis already have a fantastic thing going with the 'stay in a giant dog' concept but they really go above and beyond with the hospitality part."

When we found out you can even rent an Irish pub in County Tipperary through the rental site, we kind of thought we'd seen it all. That's until we heard about Sweet Willy - which definitely beats staying in a literal dog house in Finland, something you can also do through Airbnb. Okay, NOW we've seen it all.
