Steve O is a man who has lived. The Jackass star has had more than his fair share of ups and downs over the course of his 44 years on the Earth.
The highs have been high: an award-winning TV show, with a legion of fans and a licence to print money from his willingness to put himself through just about anything to get a laugh.
The lows have been low to say the least. Steve O has battled mental health issues and found himself in psychiatric institutions. He has fought multiple addictions to cocaine, alcohol, ketamine, PCP and nitrous oxide and even did a stint in jail after protesting against SeaWorld.
He's now a full decade sober, something which he attributes in no small part to his two rescue dogs, Walter and Bernie.

"I just think back to before I had my dogs and my life must have been just so empty. I shouldn't say empty, but I can't believe how much those little sons of bitches have enriched my life," he told US Weekly on the fifth anniversary of his sobriety.
"It's so good for a guy like me to have a priority that's not myself and have a regimen and discipline and responsibility that's all very healthy."
Now, his support for animal rights has seen him go completely vegan. He announced in June that he was in the best shape of his life, which he attributed to his vegan diet.

"For my birthday this year, I decided to get in the best shape I've ever been in," he posted on Instagram. "I may be old, but I'm healthy as f*ck! #HappyBdayToMe."
On his 10th anniversary of sobriety, he took to Twitter to thank his former Jackass comrades for all their help in pulling him back from the brink.
"Hard to believe it's been an entire decade since I've had a drink or a drug," he wrote, alongside a photo of him surrounded by booze and nitrous oxide capsules.
"I just can't put into words how grateful I am for @realjknoxville and the rest of the guys who locked me up in a psychiatric ward on March 9, 2008, where this journey began. Thank you, dudes, I love you."
Now it seems that he is out of the other side of his problems and back living life to the fullest. He recently posted photos to Instagram that showed just how much he has changed in the last six years - and on the evidence of those pics, he's looking better than ever.
It's great to see how Steve O has turned his life around and he's an inspiration to everyone.
