Ant McPartlin has tweeted to welcome baby Isla - the first child of buddy Declan Donnelly - to the world, saying he loves her already before signing off as 'Uncle Ant'.

Dec announced earlier today that wife Ali had given birth to Isla Elizabeth Anne, who arrived just after nine o'clock this morning.

Tweeting the good news to his shared Twitter account with Ant, he explained that mother and daughter were both doing well, while he was 'head over heels'.

Ant and Dec have had to place their co-hosting duties on hold, as Ant steps back from all of his TV commitments after being involved in a drink-driving incident earlier this year.

The 42-year-old star was heading back from a dog walk with his mum when he lost control of his Mini at a roundabout.

According to the police charge sheet, he 'drove a motor vehicle, namely a Black Mini... after consuming so much alcohol that the proportion of it in [his] breath, namely 75 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath, exceeded the prescribed limit'.

Pleading guilty at Wimbledon Magistrates' Court on 16 April, he was fined £86,000 and banned from driving for 20 months.

Dec, meanwhile, has had to trudge on without his long-time professional partner, having hosted this year's Britain's Got Talent alone.

But for the next series of I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here!, Dec will have a new co-host - in the form of This Morning presenter Holly Willoughby.

ITV revealed Dec's new sidekick earlier this week.

Dec said: "I am hugely grateful to Holly for agreeing to accompany me to Australia this year.

"She was at the top of my list and I'm thrilled she said yes. It will be a different kind of series but we will try our best to ensure it is no less fun and eventful for our loyal viewers.

"I am also pleased to hear Holly is scared of everything. I am almost stupidly excited at the thought of watching her during the eating trials."

Holly added: "I couldn't be more excited to have been asked to stand alongside Dec for the next jungle adventure. I love Ant and want to send him my best wishes and support for a continued recovery.

"These are big shoes, not to fill, but just to keep warm for a little bit... Honestly, I'm a huge fan of I'm a Celebrity and actually feel like I've won a competition to go and hang out on my favourite show! When is it a good time to tell Dec I'm scared of everything that moves?!"
