The pair are at it again

Twins often have a lot of beef between them, built on years of competition, comparison and mis-identification.

Fortunately for the rest of us, former Suite Life of Zack and Cody stars Cole and Dylan Sprouse like to play out their spats on social media, so we can just pick up some popcorn and enjoy. To be fair, the ribbings tend to be pretty well-intended, but that doesn't make them any less enjoyable for us.

The latest bro-down was sparked on Instagram when Cole posted a picture of a fairly innocuous snowy setting, with the caption: "Smoking is bad for you and I make sure I cough next to anybody that does it just to remind them".

Dylan used this picture as an opportunity to have a dig at his brother.

The post got almost 2,000,000 likes, however, it also prompted his brother to chime in with a reminder of his Instagram posts from yesteryear.

Dylan commented: "Remember when every post you wrote was a poem? Cringe."

He's not wrong here, it did happen and it was cringe.

Cole Sprouse was no stranger to a poetic Instagram post.

Evidently though, Cole wasn't about to take the poetic put-down lying down, responding with a punch right in the stomach of his brother's social media status. Umm, not that social media statuses have stomachs, but you get the point.

Responding to Dylan, he said: "I don't listen to people under 10m followers"

That's gotta hurt.

Now there's a tough one to swallow. Or stomach.

In case you aren't au fait with their respective Instagram followings: Cole has 21.6 million, while Dylan has a comparatively pitiful 6.3 million.

So once again, a Sprouse delivered a factually accurate put-down, which as we all know, is the most painful kind of put-down.

The onlooking world of online Sprouse fans seemed to enjoy the brotherly exchange.

One person said: "Ooo the savagery."

Another said: "AHHAHAHAGAGA LMFAO IM DYING AHAAHAHAHAG."

But then one person realised that Cole's burn implicitly rendered fan requests and compliments utterly meaningless.

They said: "If you don't listen to people under 10m followers, do you ever listen to your fans?"

If you've got this far without knowing who the hell these Sprouses are, well done for reading on. The chances are you never watched The Suite Life of Zach and Cody on the Disney Channel when you were younger. Either that or your memory is shot to shit.

The 25-year-olds made their names on the sitcom, which premiered in 2005 and was nominated for three Emmy awards and three Nickleodeon Kids' Choice Awards.

Now they're all grown up, but not grown up enough to not burn each other on Instagram... long may that continue.
